I can’t help myself with these hand-holding pictures. They are too precious to pass up!
These three worked on tons of castles over the course of the day, and by far the most thrilling part for Tyler & Caroline was stomping them to the ground. Nathan continued to be devastated each time – haha!
Here’s the only shot you get of me in a bathing suit… pretty disappointing I know. :) I REALLY need some new ones that have a little more, ahem, support.
One of my favorite moments of the day was when Caroline decided she wanted to be my little shadow. She worked pretty hard to get her hands and legs exactly like mine. (PS, check out that awesome tan line I have from my running gear.)
Speaking of Caroline, she seriously came alive when her feet hit that water. She played, ran and splashed for hours.
Tyler had a few boo-boos on his legs that didn’t feel so great in the salt water, so he resorted to sand construction and shell collection for the most part.
After all day on the beach, we showered up and headed into Myrtle for the evening. The new boardwalk is one of our favorite places to go, especially since it has the whole “Jersey Shore” feeling without the Jersey part. Food vendors, ice cream stands, arcades, Elvis impersonators, and live bands make up the mile or so stretch, and amongst it all you’ll find both locals and out-of-towners. People-watching could be an actual sport here.
The newest attraction on the strip is called the Sky Wheel. We weren’t sure how the kids would like it, but since each car in the wheel is enclosed we figured we’d take our chances. They LOVED it.
It's actually reaaallllly high...
Their faces crack me up here. You can tell they didn’t enjoy the flash or the interruption of their ride.
We obviously had an awesome time with our week off, and the last 24 hours of our trip was the perfect ending. As much as we hated to leave Surfside, we know that in four short months we’ll be packing again for Hawaii. At least that’s something to look forward to… :)

Beautiful pictures - I love the hand-holding ones too. Caroline's curls are absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I just saw your post from the wedding and you looked amazing! I'm a fan of false eyelashes too, but have only worn them on my wedding day. My bf is a news anchor and wears them daily... She swears by them. :)
DeleteI have been wanting to go to the beach. We decided to go next weekend. Now I know for sure we will be going. Of course, a beach house would make it all better. LOL> Looks like you had a fun time!

We miss the house so much! Haha! Have a great time - wish we were going again!
DeleteHi Mandy....I love all your post. I have g/g twins that will be three this September. Right around the age of your little ones. Just Curious as to what double umbrella stroller that is in your post...looking for something light weight and easy to travel with.

ReplyDeleteHi Jen, I'll email you this info in case you don't check back here, but that stroller is from BRU and it's super cheap! I bought it a few months ago just for our Hawaii trip to bring through the airport. As it turns out, I love it and it's super easy to bring around town with us just in case we ever need it. They never sit in a stroller anymore, but there are times when I like to have one on-hand. This guy folds up super easily, has removable canopies, a drink holder, and little baskets underneath. I think it's $69 at BRU right now.
