Technical Difficulties

Hello Internet,

Please take my word when I tell you that a $5 Shutterfly coupon is not worth it. It is not worth losing your laptop for days on end after you catch a naughty little virus that said coupon link gives you. It is not worth the stress of trying to extract all your precious pictures and videos off a "compromised" hard drive, nor is it worth the $100+ you will spend for a technically-advanced individual to do so for you. Most of all, it is not worth the time and money it's costing us to restore Windows 7 and an updated version of Office... Not to mention a MUCH BETTER ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAM!!!!!!

So, friends, I may be a little MIA for a week or so. I'm trying to get my electronic life back together, all the while finishing up Christmas errands, playing with my kiddos outside (because it's all of 65 degrees here everyday in December... jealous?), and doing super fun things like visiting Santa, Lights Before Christmas at the zoo, and Christmas spectaculars all over the Columbia area.

Hopefully I will be back in the saddle soon to post the tree-decorating pics and my first mesh wreath "crafty" post. Until then, don't forget about us! This break is certainly not by choice... Grrrr.

Regards,
Mandy

  2. Did you try resetting the date on your computer? Super easy to do and it keeps all your files just resets the computer to an earlier date w/o the virus. We've done this all three times we've had a virus and it works every time. Google it and print the instructions for next time!

  4. Mandy, I've got one word for you.....Carbonite! There is a yearly fee but it backs up every single file, photo, video you put on your computer and is well worth the peace of mind....if you haven't heard about it before, check it out!! We've had it for 2-3 years and I have had to use it once after my laptop suffered a meltdown. It reinstalled everything at the simple click of the mouse!
